Welcome to Choice Fare! — Why we do what we do and write what we write

Welcome to Choice Fare!

Please come into our kitchen and sit a while. We’ll introduce you to some delicious (and easy!) grain-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free recipes and the inspiration to make them part of your everyday life.

Choice Fare is the Paleo discovery zone of two longtime friends — AnnaLee DeRuiter, a busy nurse, runner, and mom of one young child; and Deborah Johnson Wood, a work-from-home freelance writer with a husband, an empty nest, and grandchildren.

We are different ages at different stages in our lives, but we found ourselves on the same path: a quest for health, beginning with food. (And we are having way too much fun to keep the adventure to ourselves!)

We hope you’ll catch our enthusiasm for trying new foods and cooking techniques, and laugh with us at our culinary flops and mishaps. Most of all, we want you to have fun while you’re here and become part of our conversation as we learn together.

Won’t you join us on our adventure?

  1. Hilda Frazier says:

I am looking for a recipe for a GOOD pasta sauce … Bob Evans has a penne pasta with chicken and has a garlic sauce of some sort that has tomatoes, spinach and red peppers in it. It is absolutely AWESOME. I have googled and can’t seem to find the ingredients used in the sauce. Maybe you can help me or have something similar? Oh, it also has cheese — I believe parmesan.

    Thanks,

    Hilda Frazier

    • Hilda, I’m so sorry. I just saw this note. I don’t make homemade pasta sauce (red sauce), but usually used an organic sauce in a jar. So I can’t help you with this one, but if you find a good recipe, please pass it along.
